LMHCA, BA (Psychology), MA (Counseling)

  • The path I’ve chosen is that of a queer, trauma-informed, sex-positive, and holistic mental health practitioner. Some say I’m all love and light, but every fire has to have solid boundaries and a wicked sense of humor. Through counseling, I view myself as a travel guide; the destination is your interconnection, your whole self. While you choose the direction and the barriers to cross, I draw the map and help you build the tools to navigate this world. Essentially, you will set the pace, but I ensure we're moving forward. Some of these barriers might be depression, anxiety, religious or sexual trauma, addiction to alcohol or other substances, self-esteem, or relationships with other people. Along the way, we might lose sight of our authentic selves, but not all who wander are lost. By walking together in radical acceptance, compassion, and understanding, the journey to purpose can be a joyful one.

  • Above all, I believe you should feel supported and empowered to make the changes you want to see in your life. I use mindfulness to attune to client needs, creating a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment. To me, transforming pain is grounded on the attunement to our bodies, ourselves, and each other. I truly appreciate the connection, humor, authenticity, awkwardness, messiness, and deep acceptance that comes from therapeutic work. My greatest fulfillment in life is unraveling socially conditioned stories and discovering the authorship of your own life. Sometimes that means exploring the early chapters, the themes of your life, and the character development you want to see in the here and now. I honor the trials and tribulations you’ve seen in your life, but therapy can also be about writing the next chapters, chosing your purpose, meaning, and finding your joy and authentic self.

  • As a child, my mother described me as “a feisty dirt-covered tomboy,” and my father described me as “a magical woodland fairy.” My life has been defined by my natural curiosity, compassion, and search for connection. Like many people in this world, I was also conditioned to have a deep sense of unworthiness. That sense of unworthiness warped my curiosity and search for connection into rampant escapism in my early life. At first, it was endless books, fantasy, nature, mythology, horror, humor, philosophy, religion, and psychology. I would devour anything that distracted me from my uncompassionate reality. As a young adult, I took a side quest to get a BA in Psychology and studied implicit and unconscious cognition. I moved to France, traveled the world, and then came home and started bartending. Then it was alcohol, “uppers,” and codependent relationships to cope with the overwhelming feeling that I still couldn’t find belonging. My “independence” prevented me from seeking help, but the despair, social anxiety, and suicidal ideation overwhelmed me. This might sound odd, but I’m so grateful it did. I went to counseling, and in a sober light I rediscovered my fire. My compassion, self-love, curiosity, connection, and belonging were once a smoldering ember, grew to a brilliant light with the help of my counselor and newly found communities. While your story might not look like mine, I look forward to sharing my curiosity and compassion while connecting with you.
